lyrics

V1)And if you come from all walks of life,
Put your hand in mine brother we will make it alright.
He’s come to my country to better himself
But some try to make it an intolerant Hell.
My poorest of brothers he comes here alone
Seeking menial labour so far from his home.
He works minimum wage every hour he can get.
Harassment comes daily. He just wants to forget.

Chorus

This is the plight of the immigrant.
We all want our rights in this world.
Why for them is it different.
A flag is just a rag. A borders just a line
That constantly reminds us
Of our ignorance.

V2) “They’re taking our jobs” that’s all that you say
While you sit on your bone idle arse everyday.
Well how would you feel just to walk in his shoes.
When the only English you know is just racist abuse.
My poorest of brothers he comes here alone.
To earn a little money for his family back home.
He’s waiting on tables he’s cleaning your streets.
He breaks his back at his job just to be called a thief.

Chorus

This is the plight of the immigrant.
We all want our rights in this world.
Why for them is it different.
A flag is just a rag. A borders just a line
That constantly reminds us
Of our ignorance.
